8/3/2023 0 Comments Qlab osc heartbeat(%1 is the etc wildcard for w/e number the cue you just fired was). So in that setting you've got to put /go/%1 which QLab can actually understand. That has to be set to what QLab will understand as a go. The reason it wasn't triggering QLab is most likely that the OSC Cue Send String in your ETC settings wasn't correct. The only time you should go to TCP is if you find UDP isn't working. TCP connections aren't really needed unless your network/computer is unreliable, as UDP works fine 99.9% of the time. Everything you're seeing is just the console broadcasting out what it's doing constantly on that port in case it's needed. The reason you see so much, is because with TCP connections, they just send all OSC data to anything listening all the time, just in case it needs it. In order to do this, you need middle software that connects to both of them, and just passes the data between. QLab and ETC consoles are both OSC servers, which means you cannot connect them to each other to send OSC via TCP. OSC can send in 2 ways via UDP (which most people us, it just sends the message out to the network and hopes something sees it on the specified IP) or TCP (which maintains an active connection between the two devices to ensure they are always seeing each other before sending things). OSCRouter doesn't actually send anything. Lol I'm a little late to the party, but can at least explain what was happening to you.
